The Epson Stylus SX400 has a wide array of functions and all of which is performs well compared to the competition. Running costs is one of the most important considerations when buying an inkjet printer and its becoming common place for the printer manufacturers to price their devices cheap and then and then make the profit back on replacement printer ink cartridges. A set of Epson SX400 ink cartridges will set you back over £30 which is pretty reasonable compared to some of it’s competitors but when consider that a set of compatible Epson inks cost just £15 for the SX400 the price of the originals seems over priced. The SX400 produces great print results for all types of documents from basic mono printing of text right through to high resolution colour printing in photo prints. The SX400 built in flat bed scanner is capable scanning all types of documents up to A4 in size and the results it produces are good but not spectacular. It a similar story will the SX400’s photo copier in terms which although produces copies of an adequate quality its slow and limited to a maximum of nine copies automatic copies. It’s difficult to find an area the SX400 excels in. It’s reasonably good at all the things it designed to do but doesn’t perform well enough to stand out.
