Samsung CLP-300N put to the test

Cheap, uncomplicated and compact are not usually words you would use to describe a network ready colour laser printer but the Samsung CLP-300n are all of those things and more. It has been designed to open up colour laser printing to user that it has currently been unavailable to by making the CLP-300n affordable not just to buy but to run as well. Samsung CLP-300n toner cartridges are different to the usual Samsung toner cartridges in a number of ways, they are physically smaller, print fewer pages and cost less. Most importantly they offer a good cost per page average of 2p for black printing and 10 for colour which is pretty good for a budget printer. Another thing the CLP-300n is pretty good at considering it a budget printer is high print quality. Sharp documents result from the 600 x 600 dpi optical resolution which can be enhanced up to 2400 x 600 dpi. The unit also boasts a competitive 24,200 pages per month duty cycle but the slow colour printing speeds of 4ppm (pages per minute) and a limited 150 sheet capacity paper tray make it not the best printer for heavy duty work on a regular basis. Operation noise if very quiet and build quality of the whole feels very good. The CLP-300n has been designed to be as easy as possible to use, from the initial setup and install to changing the printer cartridges, everything is straight forward and simple.
